Indicator class

The indicator classes are concepts to hold the data and pass them between transformations.

In order to be able to pass data consistently between algorithm, we utilize indicator classes. Indicator class corresponds to thoroughly documented data type.

Semantics

Name REQUIRED

The full name of the indicator class.

Abstract REQUIRED

The summary of the indicator class description.

Fill in the short and self-explanatory summary of the indicator class.

Definitions

The definitions of abbreviations, terms and concepts utilized within the subsequent documentation.

All of the abbreviations, terms and concepts should be explained here.

Context

The inclusion of the indicator class within contexts.

Describe all of the contexts (you may also reference them) in which this indicator class gives sense (may occur).

Format of the data REQUIRED

The human readable general format of the data which form this indicator class (e.g. the number with 2 decimals, date DD-MM-YYY etc.)

Mandatory field - you should describe the data format, so that the human is able to enter it.

Data precision

Explain the precision of the data which form this indicator class.

Explain - why we selected the precision (why only 1 decimal place, etc.).

Origin of the data REQUIRED

The origins of the data (measured, output of machine X etc.) - enter all of them.

If the data are measured, fill in the measurement method in the Measurement section.

Measurement method

If this data can be measured directly, enter the method of measurement.

Describe the measurement method, you may use visual elements on the image.

Interpretation

How to interpret the data.

How to interpret the data - is it simple, or does it need any tools? Does the MediGrid

Commentary

Unspecified comment - other relevant information.

Enter important objective information about the indicator class if necessary for the understanding. Do not enter your personal comments (use the REVIEW entity instead).

Limits

Fill in if there are any limits limiting the use of this indicator class.

For example if these data can not be utilized to evaluate aborigin population, enter it here.

Metadata

Displayed name REQUIRED

The name of the indicator class displayed by computer.

This name is used e.g. in the construction of the user interface. It should be either name or accepted abbreviation.

Unit

The unit of measurement (if applicable)

The unit is displayed behind the input field.

Restriction of the data type REQUIRED

We can define the restriction (such as the restriction element in schema definition).

Using the schema restriction element we can define the enumeration, minimal and maximal value or pattern.

Relations

Author REQUIRED MULTIPLE

The author (or authors) of indicator class

You may enter multiple authors.

Cites MULTIPLE

Citation of published work

Is valid in MULTIPLE

Define context, within which is this indicator class valid.

You may define the context, in which the indicator class makes sense.

Classifications

MeSH

Medical SubHeadings

Enter the MeSH classification elements.

UMLS

The UMLS concepts.

Enter the UMLS concept list.

MEDAL chapter

The chapter of the MEDAL project, to which this algorithm should belong to.

The MEDAL project is the biggest reference collection of algorithms. Select the chapter number, to whit this entity belong to.
